A modern reference database built to solve a real gap: firearm information online is scattered, inconsistent and often incomplete.
TGDB consolidates specs, history and context into structured profiles, currently spanning 1,100+ firearms, 509 manufacturers and 140 calibers, browsable by category, caliber, manufacturer and country, with a side-by-side comparison tool and command palette search.
The community layer is where the interesting engineering sits. Users submit a weapon and AI agents handle the research automatically, pulling and structuring the data into a complete entry rather than leaving a blank form for a moderator to fill. I built two supporting systems on top of that: an integrated blog writer for the news section, and an image editor that cleans and standardises gallery imagery across the catalogue.
